Abstract:

In the domain of online education, mandated by the COVID-19 pandemic, the current work investigates the interesting dynamics of institutional service quality as well as the online platform service quality in shaping the student satisfaction with online education. For many traditional institutes, the change from offline to online mode has not been easy. Students, while looking upto the brand of the institute, also rely on the stability of the online platform to extract please from the classes. We use a multi-dimensional framework to describe both these service qualities to explain student satisfaction, which in turn is proposed to impact the institute’s brand equity. The susceptibility to peer influence of a student is investigated as a moderator. The paper is conceptual and is a work-in-progress. The authors aim to make important contribution to higher education literature by being one of the first frameworks to integrate the two service qualities.
