Abstract:

This research aimed to develop learning achievement, make a comparison with learning achievements of each student, and observe the satisfaction levels in the course of 'Health Education' entitled 'First Aid by Means of Student Team Achievement Division (STAD)' for the students in Matthayom 1, Bang-Li Witthaya Secondary School. 40 students of Matthayom 1/2 were used as the sample. Four study plans in the course of Health Education by means of STAD, entitled 'First Aid' for Matthayom 1 were employed coupling with the 4-multiple choice question test; the appraisal questionnaire; behavioural observation records; and the satisfaction levels' questionnaire. Mean, standard deviation, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test of normality, 95% confidence interval, and percentage were used. It was found that the mean score of before-teaching was 4.43 ± 2.15; 95% CI [3.76, 5.09]; whilst the mean score of after-teaching was 8.05 ± 1.32; 95% CI [7.64, 8.46]. Statistics of the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test of normality (D) of both before-teaching and after-teaching scores were 0.13 and 0.17, respectively. The results clearly demonstrated that the scores of the after-teaching were significantly higher than those of the before-teaching at the significance level of 0.05 (t = 9.07, df = 78, p-value (two-tailed) < 0.0001 ≤ 0.05), 3.62 ± 0.40 (approximately 32.2% to 40.2%); 95% CI [2.83, 4.41]. The satisfaction levels of studying in the course were ‘highly satisfied’.
