Abstract:

Green city is a concept that raises the ecological issues of a city in designing sustainable urban planning. The city of Bandung is one of the cities in Indonesia that applies the green city concept, even in history the city of Bandung was recorded became one of the representatives on the international green city network in 2015. The Bandung City Government itself has developed elements of a green city so that environmental problems can be overcome, but there are still many environmental problems that have not been resolved. The purpose of this research is to evaluate and provide recommendations regarding the application of a green city in Bandung city according to the Asian Green City Index. The method used is descriptive qualitative method through literature studies. After being analyzed using Green City Index It was found that the city of Bandung is in the range average-above average, with levels below average in the transport category which has a weight about 31,10% because public transportation route in the city of Bandung are limited between regions and have not been integrated well , and then the average level in the category energy CO2, land use & building, water and sanitation. So that it is necessary to organize an integrated spatial planning in creating a comfortable, productive and sustainable space, with optimizing the concept usage of green energy which is an alternative in the use of energy that is more efficient with utilizes renewable energy and create a clean environment in energy use.
