Abstract:

Due to recent globalization and digitalization, there has been a drastic change in the lifestyle of people. It has changed the way society is shaped or functions. In the same way, the advent of digitalization has drastically shaped how people (students) take notes in class. The recent change has shifted the traditional paper note-taking system to digital notes using various software applications. These are not limited to business but are in all fields, especially university students. Since universities encourage students to bring their own devices to school, more and more students are using digital notes in class. However, the effectiveness of utilizing note-taking apps remains unknown and controversial. It questions the credibility of those notes compared to the traditional pen-and-paper note systems when it comes to remembering or utilizing the notes. Therefore, this study aims to discover whether these digital note trends have more benefits to students other than being convenient. The purpose of this study is to focus on the changes this software needs to make in the future for advancement and to make it more efficient using different Andragogy principles of adult learning theories. This research will incorporate this principle to learn how effective digital notes are and what are the further areas of improvement.
