Abstract:

Since the beginning of 2020 the appearance of COVID-19 has gradually been becoming a global pandemic. We have seen one of its impacts on schools and their teachers and students around the world. It is essential for principals to be equipped with resilient leadership so as to cope with the kind of school crisis. However, due to lack of a tool for measuring the leadership resilience of principals, it is not clear whether or not the principals are capable to lead their schools out of the crisis. The purpose of this study is therefore to establish a measurement tool of resilient leadership for principals. Specifically, this study is: 1) to examine the relevant literature so as to understand the concept of resilient leadership of principals and its theories and studies concerned; 2) to look at the theoretic developments and conceptual framework of resilient leadership of principal;3) to develop a tool for measuring resilient leadership of principals under the global contexts of coronavirus pandemic. The methods employed in the study include focus group and documentary analysis. Based on the findings, suggestions for how to use the developed measurement tool of resilient leadership for principals are made in the final part of this study.
